Sherlock Series 3 begins airing in the US on 19 Jan!!! Still no UK date but at least US and UK won't be so far off this time (not that I waited for the US release last time or will this time, but still).

The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous this week. If it could stay like this all the time, I'd be very happy. This week I listened to a dramatization of Dostoevsky's The Possessed and it completely blew my mind. I'm still dealing with the mental fallout and have a full-blown essay on it inside. Sorry about that. ;) I also listened to Life in London and a couple of panel shows for some lighter fare.

Sir Ian McKellen will play Sherlock Holmes in a film adaptation of a novel by Mitch Cullin.

The novel in question is A Slight Trick Of The Mind, which I've not read. I've heard mixed things about it, mostly amounting to interesting idea (the focus is a much older Holmes trying to solve an old case while dealing with deteriorating mental faculties ( Read more... )

I didn't listen to too much this week aside from a bunch of Cabin Pressure repeats on a mini road trip with a friend who'd never heard it. What I did get to is still fantasy and sci-fi themed and was generally pretty good.

What was supposed to be a somewhat quiet week has instead been a somewhat crazy week. Isn't that the way it always goes? Aside from the usual panel shows, only things I listened to this week were series 1 of High Table, Lower Orders and series 3 of Revolting People, both of which I enjoyed.
